When it comes to hotels, to say I know a thing or two would be putting it mildly. I don’t mean this at a #humblebrag. It’s just the way that it is. I spend more time in hotels than I do in my own apartment, so I know what works and what doesn’t. And many of you ask me for my hotel tips, recommendations, and reviews. So to put it all into one neat little space, I’ve decided to create my own hotel review section based on the hundreds of hotels that I’ve stayed at all around the world.

Here’s the breakdown of how I’ll be looking at these hotels, I’ve broken a hotel stay down into the components of what I look for: Vibe, Dining, Rooms, Wellness, and Amenities. Each of these has sub-sections, as well. For example, there is a space for hotel restaurants and also poolside dining. Some hotels can have a fabulous Michelin-starred restaurant, but then they completely drop the ball on poolside dining.

Each sub-category is ranked on a 1-5 scale, with 5 being Best Ever and 1 being a pass. After each sub-section has been awarded a score, I take the average to give the overall category a 1-5 mark. And, that’s basically it. After I give an introduction, a rating for each category, and a take away, you should have a pretty good sense about what each hotel offers. From there hopefully you’ll be able to determine whether or not the hotel is right for you.
