Best All-Inclusive Resorts in Cabo: Villa La Valencia

Villa La Valencia in San Jose del Cabo

I love a resort that is equal parts luxury and fun. You don’t often see the two go together. Luxury usually means “tranquil” and fun can often mean “loud.” But at Villa La Valencia, one of the best all-inclusive resorts in Cabo, I found I got a heavy helping of both all in one spot.

The beautiful resort opened in 2022 sits right along the beach on Los Cabos’ tourist corridor. It’s about 15 minutes from both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, which means it’s a quick trip from the airport and also a quick trip to any attractions you may want to visit. Although, seeing that it’s an all-inclusive with such comfortable rooms and great amenities (like the only Lazy River in Los Cabos), you probably won’t be looking for a reason to leave.

One of the things I loved most about this resort is how social it is. We met so many other travelers who were all extremely friendly and looking to have a great time. In fact, we are still in touch with one couple we met and we hope to visit them before the year is out. It’s rare that you’ll find a spot that is both one of the best resorts in Cabo for couples, and one of the best resorts in Cabo for families.

Of course, if you're more interested in privacy you can certainly find that vibe here, too. But for a couple of full-time travelers who are together 24/7, for us it was a nice change of pace to stay at a resort where we could have some semblance of a social life.

If you’re looking for five-star all-inclusive resorts in Cabo, you can find my complete review of Villa La Valencia below. And should you be inspired to book, you can do so right here.

All-Inclusive Resorts in Mexico: The Vibe of Villa La Valencia

Overall Score: Extremely Memorable

I loved the energy at Villa La Valencia. From the moment we checked in, everyone was so incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming. The good vibes were flowing from not only the staff, but the other guests, as well. We bonded with one couple in particular after a float down the lazy river and ended up spending our entire trip with them. The design is sleek, clean, and fresh with large balconies, lots of natural light, and a direct view from the lobby out over the pools towards the Sea of Cortez.

While Villa la Valencia is not adults-only, it’s totally possible for adults to keep to themselves because of the different areas created at the resort. There are three distinct pool areas: the infinity pool, the lazy river pool, and the adult pool. That’s why it’s easy for it to be one of the best resorts in Cabo for couples, and one of the best resorts in Los Cabos for families.

If you are bent on keeping quiet and staying away from everyone, the adult pool was ideal. We spent the bulk of every day there, before transitioning to the oceanfront infinity pool after 6pm when it started to get quiet.

The lazy river was always fun, and definitely worth looping around a few times before heading back to whatever poolside perch you fancy. Keep in mind that most beaches in Los Cabos are not safe for swimming, and this beach is no exception. But the view of the beach from the infinity pool is beautiful.

Five-Star All-Inclusive Resorts in Cabo: The Rooms at Villa La Valencia

Overall Score: Extremely Memorable

We stayed in a beautiful one-bedroom suite with a pool view. It was complete with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, dining table, and an expansive patio with a direct view over the pool and the ocean. But rooms also come in studios or two bedrooms. The beds were heavenly. And I always love a hotel room with a TOTO toilet. Trust me, IYKYK.

All-Inclusive Resorts in Mexico: The Dining at Villa La Valencia

Overall Score: Above Average

Dining at Villa La Valencia is excellent, for the most part. We only had one miss of a meal, which was at El Patron, the Mexican restaurant. Truthfully, though, I think we ordered incorrectly. I ordered the molcajete and it just was a miss for me. But our friend ordered the beef tacos and they were excellent.

The absolute best meal we had was at the Latitud 23.5 Steak House. It was so excellent that we spent two out of our three nights here. The cuts of steak were delicious, as were the spicy tuna tostadas, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. I would not change a single thing about our order.

The poolside food was also a big win, particularly the tuna tostadas and chicken tacos. Service at the pool was excellent and the staff was always quick to refill our drinks. Room service was pretty good, but not my favorite.

I’ll be honest, I did not try the spa. But I did use the gym every day and it was very well-equipped. It had treadmills, elliptical, bikes, a variety of different machines, and free weights. For anyone looking to keep up with their gym routine on vacation, this was a really good gym.
